Location: USS Alameda - Astrometrics Lab
Timeline: M1D3 - 1035 Hours
Antos was eager to get to work to find out what had happened to the Alameda. He had theories and suspicions based on what he knew so far about the astropolitical events of this sector that had led the Hornet here and was still unfolding.
Nevertheless, as he had been reminded several times by the Captain and Lieutenant Yamashi, speculations were very dangerous in this context because of the ramifications inaccurate or incomplete information could have.
For that reason, he had resolved that he would complete his investigation in an objective and thorough manner, letting the evidence speak for itself. After all, as the saying went, when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.
As things currently stood, there were four potential outcomes of the investigation into what had happened to the Alameda: one - the Klingons, Gorn, or a combination of actions by the two factions were responsible; two - an intentional act by someone on the Alameda was responsible; three - an accident or phenomenon currently unknown was responsible; four - a third party actor not currently known was responsible.
Regardless of who or what was responsible, Antos resolved to get to the bottom of it. He had not seen the latest numbers on the level of casualties the Alameda’s crew had sustained, but he suspected that in addition to the known injuries, there were likely deaths. It was for his comrades and their families that it was important to ensure the investigation was comprehensive and left no stones unturned. Equally important was of course the politics of it all - to the degree that it factored into what had happened here- particularly given the bloodletting showdown that was about to take place between the Gorn and Klingons.
Enough rambling Antos, he mentally chided himself. Time to get to work.
