Mission:
Mission 0 - While You Wait
Location: USS Hornet
USS-Hornet
-----------------
Jedre had just walked into the Hornet being a new security Officer she walked along the corridor of the ship and saw a pad on the wall and asked the
ship's computer to find where the captain is as the ship's computer she tapped her Comm Badge. =A=Commander Koralova this is Lieutenant Deelan reporting for duty
sir. =A= Lt Deelan said.
Larisna was still in her ready room, now looking over the reports on incoming personnel and the schedules for finishing the refits to the ship. If this was correct, the Hornet would be ready before the week was out. And if the arrivals came as planned, then the caretaker crew could be dismissed and they could start settling into their routine. She looked up as her comm badge chirped.
=A= Yes, Lieutenant. I'm currently in my Ready Room. I'll be waiting. =A= Larisna replied.
Jedre tapped her comm badge as she was walking down the corridor Of The Hornet. =A= I'm on my way sir I was going to the nearest turbo lift to get to your ready room sir. =A= Jedre said as she was walking to the nearest turbo lift to see the captain.
Larisna looked up from her reports, turning off the monitor.
"Please, come in and take a seat Lieutenant." Larisna said, gesturing to the open seat. "Welcome aboard. I hope that the trip was uneventful." Larisna said with a smile.
Jedre nodded as she sat down to meet with Cmdr Koralova." Thank you, sir, this is my first ship to be on since my last ship." Jedre said to him with a short smile.
"Well, that is something of a truth at any point, isn't it?" Larisna said with a chuckle. "It's a new ship, we're just getting the finishing touches. But from my understanding, all of our Tactical systems are largely all set. I'm not sure how much you were told before you came on, is there anything I can touch base with you on?"
Jedre looked at the captain,"I was a bit confused what you meant sir, I know you said your ship was getting finished with last-minute stuff. I can probably get used to the new items sir." Jedre said with a smile. Jedre looked around the captains office to see how nice it is.
"Luckily for us, the changes that had to be made were more to do with navigation and propulsion." Larisna replied. Her was fully situated at this point, landscapes from in and around Saint Petersburg, Russia on Earth and also from Trill, as well as models of the previous ships she served on, plus a large painting of the Hornet herself created for the commissioning ceremony.
"I liked having reminders of where I'm from. I haven't had a chance to return to Trill in a couple of years, though. Academy work kept me close to Earth after I left the Galaxy." Larisna commented, "What about you?"
Jedre looked at the captain."Same here." she told her with a short smile.
"Well. Hopefully, we'll get the chance to swing by Trill at some point. Otherwise, well, that's what the holodeck is for." Larisna said.
"So. Do you have any questions for me? Anything you'd like to know?" Larisna asked, "Oh, before I forget. There will be a mixer with the senior staff at 1900 hours, lounge. I'd like everyone to get to know one another. If you have anything, dish wise, you'd like to share on the buffet, let the galley know."
"I have got a couple of questions, how long have been in command?, how long have you had your ship? and what's happening with this ship at this time?" Jedre asked her."I Know I ask too many questions I'm just curious about this whole ship and its design, and how the security office is and whatnot." Jedre also said
"As you may be aware, Lieutenant, the Hornet was only just commissioned. We're taking over following her shakedown. My last post for the last two years was at Starfleet Academy, I was a Strategic Operations instructor. Prior to that, I was First Officer aboard the Galaxy for three years." Larisna explained. "As for the rest, you'll have plenty of time for a tour of the ship and you can access Starfleet's records on the Century-class."
"I know being an instructor at the Academy doesn't bode well to some for a Captain, but this is a journey we will all make together. And I am not as out of it as my recent history may come across." Larisna added.
Jedre smiled, "That's very Interesting sir, you've done a lot and that's very good progress for you congrats, sir." Jedre said, as she enjoyed the company of her Captain." I hope you will do more in the future Captain sir."
"Of course. This just the beginning of a new story." Larisna replied, "I won't hold you up any longer, I'm sure you're quite eager to get familiar with the ship. Just don't forget the staff mixer at 1900."
Jedre nodded her head."Understood sir." Jedri told her, "I was gonna show myself around the ship." She told her Captain."Have a good day Ma'am." Jedre said.
"Fair enough. See you this evening, Lieutenant. Dismissed." Larisna said with a smile.
